67-year-old Grace Jones did not disappoint as she went topless at Carriageworks in Sydney on Sunday night. This was her first of three concerts as part of the Vivid Sydney festival. The Jamaican-born star is known for her super stylish and dramatic ways and she did not fail to deliver.
Grace appeared in front of the crowd wearing a feathered gold skull mask, white body-paint across her face, chest, arms and all down to her legs paired with very dark eye makeup and black lipstick. The 67-year-old singer had her big moments in the early 1980s with hits including Slave to the Rhythm, Pull Up to the Bumper and Nightclubbing but her presence, voice and and style had us all talking about her once again. Grace is an outstanding performer and she engaged incredibly with the crowd showing off her flashy sexual image with barely anything on. However she faltered a few times and forgot a few lines during some of her perfomances. With over 150 minutes, Jones offers a tour de force of her incredible career from Jamaican dancehall to gospel, from new-wave spoken word to full-voiced disco anthems, all partnered by a constant stream of outstanding costume changes.
