Alexa Chung teams up with British high-street store to curate a 31-piece collection, delving into M&S’s archives to put together a stunning capsule collection in the hopes to bring all ages together through fashion. Although not a designer collection, this nostalgic collection ranges between £19.50 to £89 and rediscovers and reworks items from M&S archives by introducing new fabrications and colour palettes, perfect for the modern day shopper.
Alexa Chung’s distinctive and iconic look, provides a fresh, modern spin on classic pieces to showcase everything from flowy fabrics, feminine prints, to effortless basics and classic structures. At the recent launch party for Archives by Alexa, Chung was seen to be sporting her favourite outfit from the collection, which included a khaki mac coat, priced at £89.
Boasting Chung’s broad appeal, M&S Style Director said, “We’re trying to talk to all of our customers with this collection, the customers that shop with us today and new customers.” The full collection has only been recently revealed, with the collection set to launch on the 13th April 2016. Alexa says, “I have an affection for Marks & Spencer. I am thrilled to be apart of this special and unique project.”
British Fashion Council chief executive Caroline Rush at the launch of the Archive by Alexa party said, “Alexa really values our heritage. She holds M&S really dear to her heart and the garments that she’s worked on from the archive, have lots of positive nostalgic memories.”
