Balmain Pre-Fall 2016 Collection

“Paris is the City of Light, and I want to switch on the lights again.” -Those were Olivier Rousteing’s words when he spoke about his Pre-Fall 2016 collection. And we can say that the collection didn’t only light up Paris, but our eyes undoubtedly lit up when we saw the stunning pieces!

Olivier showed a definite admiration for the hourglass figure. From full on beaded details, fringed tassels, sheer cross-stitch panels, as well as ruffled lace to create the illusion of the desirable figure; to exaggerating the hips and minimising the waist with belted details and corsets. Also, the use of contrasting colours, of pastel hues and rich shades of golds, reds, greens and blues made the pieces even more striking and distinctive. More so, embellished high necks to décolletage-baring strapless fitted dresses together with plunging necklines the collection will definitely appeal to every girl and not just the body-conscious was equally present.

Among Rousteing’s influences for the collection were Versailles and Madame de Pompadour, of which is apparently the ruffled detail of the floor-length lace dresses, overlaid by a corset at the waist. This collection is magically powerful but don’t take our word for it, take a look for yourselves.
