The former Friends actress has proclaimed that she has split from her fiancé Johnny McDaid. The couple fought hard to make their relationship work but after all that they decided to call off their wedding after an 18 month engagement. This happened shortly before Thanksgiving. American Publication TMZ reports, that Johnny packed his bags and moved out of Courtney’s home in Los Angeles. The Snow Patrol guitarist is supposedly back in Britain.
Sources say that they have tried couples therapy to work out their issues but it was an agreement for both sides to end their relationship. TMZ publication also reports that they both differed on their lifestyle choices. Courtney, 51 liked to go out with friends whilst Johnny preferred to be more reserved and to avoid publicity. Courtney also did not like his smoking habits.
Johnny proposed to his actress last year during a romantic getaway to Turks and Caicos to celebrate Courteney’s 50th birthday. In June the pair announced their engagement and shared the joyous news on Twitter with a selfie. The actress captioned it stating, “I’m Engaged to him”.
This would of been Courtney’s second wedding. Her ex David married celebrity reporter Christina McLarty in April, a year after welcoming their son Charlie. Hollywoodlife.com broke the news of the split with a source telling the publication that Courtney is devastated. ‘He just decided he wanted to separate. He hasn’t really given a reason, but mainly said he wants to focus on his music and can’t take the fighting.’ It was also reported that not only is the actress upset over the break-up, but the duo are no longer on speaking terms. ‘He’s actually the one who instigated the breakup,’ a source close to the couple told the website.
‘He upped and moved. She doesn’t know where he lives,’ a source said. ‘It’s really bizarre how he’s handled things. He’s very cold, completely closed off from her.’ Meanwhile there has been varied speculation as to the cause of the split. The source also reveals, ‘Johnny feels she’s a little too close for comfort with her male co-stars. He doesn’t like the fact that she’s close to them, that she stays in touch with them [because] she has this past of falling in love with people she works with. He feels very uncomfortable.’ The source reveals.
It is a distressful time for the two and ashame that they ended their relationship. At one point it had been expected that they would marry this past summer, with the star’s home in Malibu suggested as a potential venue. Courteney had even told People magazine that her 11-year-old daughter with ex husband Arquette would be performing at the nuptials. However the actress had admitted she was not exactly throwing herself into wedding planning, saying: ‘We don’t have any plans at the moment. ‘But it’s fun thinking about it and figuring out what to do and when to do it.’
