With Halloween just three weeks away, the shops are stocking up on spooky costumes and party essentials. But it’s not just the costume shops that profit from this time of year, our favourite high street clothes shops and online retailers are once again dedicating themselves to the day of the dead with their novelty tights and t-shirts as well as essentials for any Halloween party. But we shouldn’t just be making our purchases exclusive to the 31st of October, we should be seeing this as an opportunity to expand our wardrobes for the rest of the year, right?
Whilst there’s only a select few that can pull off skeleton bodycon outside of October. And very little occasions that call for devil horns, cat masks, and garish pumpkin coloured outfits outside of the month. Halloween fashion however, also consists of clothing that’s not just a base to your fancy dress, and this time of year is the perfect time to stock up as the LBD’s, velvet dresses, fishnet tights, oversized jumpers and lace tops are sold in abundance.

The gothic trend doesn’t just have to be exclusive to Halloween. This is the perfect time to buy Victorian style costume jewellery, that can add a statement to any black outfit. Skulls are always on trend as well, just look at Alexander McQueen, who made a whole brand around it. So this is the perfect time to take advantage of all the skull-themed Halloween offers.

Cat lovers are active all year round, and the Halloween stock provides them with ample clothing and accessories to demonstrate this without going full on feline. Unless of course they want to, as catsuits are very easily accessible on the high street this time of year, along with jumpsuits, playsuits, and bodies.
Boohoo – Ana Cat Face Bodycon Dress £12
Topshop – Cat Ear Beanie Hat £14
Corsets, fishnets, and over the knee boots aren’t all Rocky Horror, sure they’re all sexy, but worn properly they’re definitely not inappropriate. Although possibly best not worn together outside of October.
Missguided – Over The Knee Lace Up Gladiator Boots £60
Despite it being on of the most unsexy times of the year, there isn’t a shortage in seductive clothing to sex up your Halloween costume, or any outfit outside of the occasion for that matter. Missguided us Mean Girls logic to justify this rather outspoken jumper as Halloween attire, although I imagine many finding reason to wear it all year round without a care.
Missguided – Cold Shoulder Crop Slut Jumper £15
Even Victoria’s Secret are boarding the sexy fright train, with their underpants and even ‘very sexy’ costumes.
Whilst Ann Summers are taking the more dead sexy approach with their less versatile nurse and maid costumes, literally just zombified versions of their usual products, so just avoid the make-up and fake blood and you’ve got an all-year round outfit at the very least for the boudoir.
