Thanks to Kris Humphries, Kanye West had a reason to buy a phone. During the upcoming episode of Kocktails With Khloe, the rapper admits he tried to stop Kim Kardashian from marrying the NBA star, and went as far as buying his first mobile phone just to do so.
So, apparently Kanye didn’t own a phone prior to 2011, and he only bought one that year after he heard the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim was set to marry Kris Humphries.

“I got a phone because somebody decided they wanted to marry Kris Humphries,” Kanye said. “I wasn’t up to anything, and I looked on the internet, and there was Kim Kardashian with some extremely tall person, and I was like, I need to call her or something.” Kanye said- Watch video via link above. So he went and bought a phone, and John Legend (who is also in the episode with Chrissy Teigen) laughed, recalling that the only number Kanye had stored was Kim’s. “I started sending her pictures of certain basketball players that used to be cool, that now they wear their pants all the way up to here,” Yeezy added. “Like, ‘This is your future!” Kim and Kris were married for 72 days following their August 2011 wedding.
Well, Kimye have definitely lasted much longer, now with two kids and slaying at all fashion events. We’d say these two are a match made in heaven.
