18-year-old New Zealand-born music sensation Lorde covers Vogue Australia’s July 2015 music issue wearing Gucci, photographed by Robbie Fimmano and styled by Christine Centenera. Lorde ditched her usual monochromatic palette for the July issue of Vogue Australia and in her words, “feeling like an eccentric old-money 70s californian in givenchy for @vogueaustralia.”
“On the set of our shoot she was certain about the looks she liked and those she did not,” said Vogue Australia editor Edwina McCann in her editor’s letter. “She has informed taste, a calm demeanour and is wise beyond her years – or perhaps I am underestimating her peers.”
Lorde graces the pages of the magazine in style wearing a feather print ensemble worth $20,000 paired with a contrasting emerald jewelry set of earring, necklace and ear cuff of the same design.
Lorde leads the music issue, which also features other big talents including The Preatures, Daniel Johns, Say Lou Lou and Sia. “As I get older and a little bit more comfortable in myself, I’m like: ‘Yeah, I will wear that really pretty, feminine outfit”, and I’ll feel strong in that as well,'” she says in Vogue.
“But I do love a perfect pair of pants, the perfect collared shirt, and I wear sneakers, heavy shoes… often I’ll buy a pair of men’s pants or whatever. I don’t discriminate in that way.”
