Michelle Keegan is known for her acting and modelling. Now she is set and ready for action, starring in the famous BBC Drama series Our Girl. The 28-year-old has begun filming her role as Corporal Georgie Lane in the army drama series in South Africa, where she will be based for two months.
Wearing full camouflage army fatigues and clutching a gun, Michelle’s costume is far from the glamorous look fans are used too. The brunette bueaty has been undergoing extensive training in preparation for the role, including tough boot camp workouts to ensure the scenes are as authentic as possible.
Writing in her popular weekly blog for HELLO! Online, Michelle revealed all about her preparations for the role, telling fans: “I have been learning so much about army life and I have been embracing it all. I’ve learnt how to hold and fire a gun which felt amazing – serious adrenaline rush, and by the way, they are really loud! and added, “I have also learned to pack a medical kit and how to extract a casualty to safety.”
It is not all fun and games though, it is hard work. Michelle is also taking the opportunity to relax and enjoy the South African sun during her downtime, and shared a photo of herself sunbathing on Instagram and says,“Days when you finish work early! #internationalwomensday #pineapplehead,” she wrote alongside the sunny snap.
Whilst filming for the new drama, Michelle is away from her husband, Mark Wright for two months. Speaking exclusively to HELLO! in a recent interview, she said they have become accustomed to spending time apart. “We’re sort of used to it,” Michelle said. “When Mark worked on Take Me Out: The Gossip he would be in Tenerife for three weeks at a time then home again for a week before flying out.”
However the loved-up couple will be keeping in touch via FaceTime and Mark will be going out to visit his wife. “He’s my best friend. I love that he’s a gentleman. I’m feeling very lucky,” the actress shared. “There’s nothing in my life that I would change. I have no regrets. I’m very happy with my work and personal life.”
