Pro-Rape ‘Pickup Artist’ Organises Events Across the World

Daryush Valizadeh, otherwise known as ‘Roosh V’, is a ‘pickup artist’ who claims he believes that rape should be legalised on private property. Daryush has recently announced that he has organised events in eight cities across the country, including London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester and Shrewsbury, where like-minded men can meet up.

The anti-feminist campaigner runs a blog where he shares advice with followers on how to ‘pick up’ women, encouraging men to stop asking for permission. He has also released several self-published books giving tips on how to have sex with more women, both in the UK and in different counties. His more notable works include Bang Iceland, “a travel guide designed to help you sleep with Icelandic women in Iceland without paying for it”, and Bang: The Pickup Bible That Helps You Get More Lays.

The organised meet ups are not exclusive to the UK, however. Daryush has scheduled the meet ups to take place on Saturday 6th February in a total of 43 countries, with London having two separate events listed. Daryush has also designated ‘hosts’ to attend each location, leading the events. The blogger will reportedly attend the Australia event in person, sharing flight details on his Twitter account.

Daryush also made headlines last February after he shared a blog post forcing women to take responsibility for potential threats of rape. He claimed that women need to be more careful when it comes to their security, stating that non-consensual sex is “easily preventable”. The post stated that women purposely accuse men of assaulting them if they feel “awkward, sad, or guilty after a sexual encounter they didn’t fully remember”. When talking about his campaign to legalise rape on private property, Daryush wrote “I propose that we make the violent taking of a woman not punishable by law when done off public grounds”. He also mentioned that the solution for preventing rape doesn’t lie in teaching men moral boundaries, but in making women responsible for non-consensual sex.

A petition was started shortly after the blog post was released, campaigning for Amazon to stop selling Daryush’s books. For more information on the petition, visit change.org or by clicking this link.
