Singer FKA Twigs faces racism for dating superstar actor Robert Pattinson. Robert and Tahliah Debrett Barnett aka FKA Twigs have tried to keep their relationship private since they got together in July. Now singer FKA twigs has opened up about dating Hollywood star Robert Pattinson and the challenges the relationship brings. The 26-year-old recently spoke to the Observer newspaper about the scrutiny she has come under since their relationship went public.
She tells the publication: “I look uncomfortable because I am uncomfortable. But then it’s like, is this person in my life worth that? And he is, without question… In comparison to how happy I am. And how I feel with him. It’s 100 percent worth it.” She also admitted to the paper that she has recieved a lot of abuse including racist remarks. “I hate her music. I hate her hair. I hate her production. I hate her videos”. Fine: don’t care. That’s the great thing about art, it’s not for everyone. But when it comes to racism, really? In this day and age? Pick that?’
Despite the unfair remarks Robert and Tahliah appear to be happy. Tahliah is the first girl that Robert has publicly being involved with since his split with long-time Twilight co-star girlfriend Kristen Stewart last year. Robert has been supporting Tahliah and attending her gigs. She talked more on the idea of love in relation to her debut album LP; ‘Whether it’s loving someone, trying to make music or trying to finish something and it’s painful, you’re constantly confronted with your lack of skill level, or you’re trying to love someone and you’re confronted with all the demons you have.’
We are happy to see these two love birds grow, we hope people will learn to love them as a couple and stop the discriminatory and abusive comments.
