The Force (Finally) Awakens

Star Wars fans everywhere can come together to celebrate the awakening of the force – with Star Wars 7 soon to be hitting the cinema screens across the UK. The latest Star Wars movie had its big premiere in Los Angeles last night, and a couple that were clearly obsessive fans actually got married in the queue!

Although no spoilers have yet been given, there are indications that Star Wars 7 will give women a more prominent role than in the previous movies. There is also a suggestion that the character ‘Rey’ (played by British actress Daisy Ridley) has been given more prominence in the film than the character had previously received.

Harrison ford may be knocking on a bit, but he looked as handsome as ever in his dark suit, as he appeared on the red carpet with Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker, and Carrie fisher (Princess Lea).

British actor John Boyega, who plays Finn, arrived at the premiere looking absolutely amazing in an awesome suit. It certainly seems to be a great night for the UK as it is revealed that Gwendoline Christie (yet another British actress) plays the first ever female baddie).

Star Wars 7 premieres in London on Wednesday December 16th. What does this mean for us mere mortals? Well unfortunately we will have to wait for general release on December 17th. However, UK residents do have the privilege of seeing the movie a day earlier than fellow American fans.
