When I saw Jeremy Scott and Rag and Bone showcasing some offbeat crop tops at Spring/Summer 2014 New York Fashion Week, I was surprised at the new top trends. But, with Cara Delevingne and Georgia May Jagger following suit, I knew crop tops would be around for the long hall. As catwalks and famous faces inspired me to go for gold my question To Crop, Or Not To Crop? has been answered. This To Crop way of life has led me to spend every last cent of my bank account on this new crazy out there trend.
I have probably bought enough crop tops in the last two months to last me a lifetime. From floral designs and black and white checkered combos to white and black plain middies, my wardrobe is now flooded back to back with short tee’s. Our crop tops must be teamed with items to accentuate it’s hipster vibe and we must stay away from baring too much flesh. Put one with the right chunky gold necklace and sleek leather jacket and it could be your look of the season. If you are feeling adventurous why not wear one under a slick pair of dungarees matched with biker boots or skyscraper heels.
With this high fashion and high street trend in mind, I was led to buy a floral kimono. They are set to be huge for this summer 2014 festival season and teaming it with a cool white crop top and a pair of high waisted shorts will be the game changer this Spring/Summer. With prints and pastels exploding in the fashion stakes, this summer style will be a mix and match of trends and I cannot wait to get involved. I am thinking the demure chic ways of Olivia Palermo combined with the effortless street style of Kylie Jenner and we might have ourselves an outstanding summer wardrobe.
Whether you are fifteen or fifty, this year’s Spring/Summer fashion forward trends will make you stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons. From bohemian to floral, there are no limits to what you can do. If you are sticking with the black midi full skirt or vouching for the over the shoulder jacket there are plenty of styles you can throw yourself into. One thing is for sure, the crop top will be staying around for the foreseeable future. So, get your high waisted jeans out and experiment with all things cropped. Dare to be different and stay hot on trends this Spring/Summer.
