Why the long face is the 2nd part in the series of Face The Facts- An insight into how to distinguish what face shape you have and what to do to enhance or distract away from certain areas. Today’s emphasis is Long faces and heart- shaped faces.
Long face/Oblong- The long Face is similar to the Oval but it has more length and less width. The top half of the forehead and chin should be shaded to reduce the overall length of the face, the aim is to create width and avoid the gaunt look often associated with a long face. Highlight and blush the cheeks to plump this area out. Chin length bobs are an ideal hairstyle as it again creates width, curls and waves are a winner too but make sure the hair comes just above the collar-bone any longer length can drag the face down. Celebrities who share your face shape are, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ashlee Simpson, Liv Tyler, Giselle Bundchen
Heart shaped face- This face shape has a narrow chin that leads up to a broad forehead with prominent cheekbones. Width is needed at the cheek area and jaw line to give the illusion of being wider and more oval. Apply blusher onto the cheeks and a highlighter slightly under this area at the angle of the jaw. You can also use a smidge of shader on the chin area to alleviate a longer pointy chin. Note: Highlighter to emphasise and shade to hide or mask. This is a great face shape to have as you can choose some stunning shorter cuts and shoulder length cuts which fills out the chin area, due to a wide forehead a fringe can offer to hide this feature without the need of shader/contouring. Celebrities with a heart shape are, Michelle Pfeiffer, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer.
