Great news for all the Adele fans the “Hello” Singer announced that she will be preforming at this year’s Glastonbury festival. During her concert last night which was held at the London O2 Arena she announced the exciting news.
Business-standard.com reports “Who’s going to Glastonbury this year,” Adele asked the audience. “See you there. I’ll be there. I’ll be headlining on the Saturday night this year. “She went on to reveal that she was wanted to headline the fest last year, but her “record wasn’t ready” at the time. She also shared a message to anyone who might criticise the organiser’s choice to book her. “And to the people who say I am too boring to headline, you’re more f**king boring for moaning about me headlining,” she added. Glastonbury later confirmed Adele’s upcoming appearance in a Twitter post.
Adele will be preforming on the Pyramid Stage as a headlining act Saturday the 25th June 2016. Coldplay and Muse have also been confirmed as headlining acts for the Friday and Sunday dates of the festival. The mother of one has come back into the music industry with a number of chart topping hits though it did take a bit of inspiration and positive thinking.
According to dailymail.co.uk The star broke her three-year hiatus for a rare public appearance at the festival last year, and was watching Kanye West headline the festival in the same spot when she felt inspired to take on the challenge .Refusing to rule out the gig, she explained: ‘When I was there I was like “yeah I can do this”. ‘But then when I watched it and I saw that crowd – I wasn’t anywhere near the stage and it was the biggest crowd I’d ever seen. I froze with fear, I just thought ‘I don’t know if I can do that’.
Tickets for Glastonbury 2016 went on sale in October 2015 and have sold out unfortunately. It is believed that the BBC will do a live broadcast of the festival for all to view at home.
