Adele aged 27 has announced that she was so close to leaving the music industry. The star was considering on giving up music after her huge success of the release of her second album. She was afraid that she could not produce something as equal as popular as her previous album and was still affected by the emotional turnover she went through from writing the songs. In her interview to mark the release of her third album, 25 which is out on November 20, she spoke openly about how painful it was when writing it.
“How I felt when I wrote ‘21,’ I wouldn’t want to feel again, It was horrible. I was miserable, I was lonely, I was sad, I was angry, I was bitter. I thought I was going to be single for the rest of my life. I thought I was never going to love again. It’s not worth it.” Adele took a break from singing when she had her son Angelo in October 2012 and then she got back into singing but it was not easy for her. “I didn’t think I had it in me to write another record. I didn’t know if I should. Because of how successful ‘21’ was”
As time went on, the famous star reconsidered. She wanted to write more music for herself. Then finally when she wrote her next album the 27 year old was shocked as to how many copies it sold. It sold over 30 million copies. Then she realised she had to come back. She states, “I haven’t got time to fall apart,” she added. “I’m the backbone for my kid, and I want to be there for him.” We all thought she disappeared but she did not, she just needed time to re think and she wanted to go back to reality for a while. The fans are happy to have Adele back on track and we look forward to her new album being released.
