Speaking to The New York Times about her third studio album, she confides, “In order for me to feel confident with one of my songs it really has to move me” she added “That’s how I know that I’ve written a good song for myself – it’s when I start crying. It’s when I break out in tears in the vocal booth or in the studio, and I’ll need a moment to myself.”
In the United States, “Hello” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 becoming Adele’s fourth number-one on the chart and breaking several records, including becoming the first song with over a million digital sales in a week. It is Adele and it is no wonder why she has reached so far globally.
