With Cultural influences from Shanghai Judy Wu left to pursue her artistic career at Central St Martin’s. Initially focussing on painting to express form and function. So it comes as no surprise that her latest SS17 Curve collection is featured in award-winning architect Zaha Hadid gallery in Goswell Street. We headed over to discover the fascination that is Judy Wu.
For SS17 Wu focusses on accentuating the female form through curves and shape, the epitome of feminism. Through fresh and dynamic colours, the collection catches your eye and brings colour to the grey and drab month of November. Inspired by modern contemporary architecture Wu plays with the concept of rhythmic shapes to create a fresh cutting edge shapes. With a blend of jersey and neoprene fabric, the Curve collection creates a layered effect which can be teamed in a casual day look or trendy chick look teamed bubblegum popping heels.
Alongside this Wu has collaborated with K Swiss to match the authentic pop of colours, which in itself is a work of art. Crisp white high tops splashed with colour, the K Swiss collaboration was definitely a match made in heaven, what is there not to love. The pop up space which Wu has inhabited creates a dynamic effect, sculptural illustrations which carefully intersects the space. Zaha Hadid’s and Wu’s collection work in perfect harmony, as if they were designed to be together from day one. We throughly enjoyed the collection, the pop up is available throughout November, so you can to.
