Graduate Fashion Week

On the 5th of June  fashionista’s descended upon the trendy district of Shoreditch to attend the annual event of Graduate Fashion Week, this year was extra special as they celebrated their 25th year anniversary with Dame Vivienne Westwood as the life time patron.

Graduate Fashion Week was founded in 1991, and has been going strong ever since, it was set up to provide a platform for UK students, and be the connecting bridge for international students, for the creative industries. Showcasing over 40 universities, and attracting over 30,000 visitors it’s not difficult to see why GFW is still relevant in 2016. Brand sponsors include Boohoo, Marks and Spencer as well as  ASOS to name a few. GFW has produced some of the best British talent to date Christopher Bailey, Stella McCartney and Julien McDonald, so it’s no wonder its popularity continues to grow.

We headed down to the Old Truman Brewery, on the closing day of the show to catch-all the highlights. Upon arrival we were instantly greeted with 3 floors of innovation from various universities across the globe. With an eclectic mix of scheduled talks and sponsor stands, it was a great event to feel inspired. We caught the closing showing with the front row star-studded with celebrities such as Alesha Dixon on the judging panel, check out our favourite picks below.
