Hurray, party season is finally here! However, with back to back events, and no end to the fun in sight, our eyes will certainly have to pick up the tab. Don’t panic – with our quick fix beauty tips, you can continue to party the nights away without there being a hint of grisly evidence that you are surviving on 4 hours of sleep (other than the empty sachets of coffee and glitter that just won’t come off).
1.Fade Out Dark Circles
It’s time to put a stop to those pesky under eye shadows. If you can do this you will be half way there to beating the hungover, sleep deprived look.
All you need is an illuminating concealer. Fruk loves illuminating concealer pens, such as the Givenchy Mister Light Instant Light Corrective Pen (£24, Debenhams). These concealer pens provide good coverage whilst ensuring the delicate under eye are looks rejuvenated and deceptively rested. Choose a shade that is a little lighter than your chosen foundation for optimum results.
2.Brighten Up Some More
Steer clear of dark eyeliners along the waterline, as this will make your eyes look smaller. Instead, opt for a neutral liner and add some white to the inner corners – you will be pleasantly surprised at the difference it makes! Fruk loves Rimmel London Colour Precise Eyeliner (£5.99, Superdrug).
Fluid can build up around the eye area, making tired eyes look even worse. Combat this by gently massaging the fluid away from your eyes. Using your index finger and starting at the bridge of your nose, smooth your finger along your upper eyelid, and outwards. Repeat the process two or three times, to lessen unsightly puffiness. Follow this by applying a slice of cucumber to your eyelids for ten minutes, and your eyes with look and feel amazingly refreshed.
4.Avoid Dark Eyeshadow
Dark eyeshadow has the same effect as black eyeliner – and on tired eyes, it’s never a good look. Apply a highlighter under the arch of your eyebrows, avoid too much shimmer, and choose neutral tones or soft pinks to keep your peepers looking bright and breezy. Fruk loves Makeup Obsession Peach Highlighter (£3, Superdrug).
5.Curl Your Lashes
To create an immediate lifting effect, reach for your eyelash curler. Curling your lashes will noticeably widen the eye, and add beautiful definition. One word of warning – regularly clean your eyelash curler – we all know the story about the girl who didn’t, and that particular look is slightly more worrying than the hungover sleepless one! Fruk loves the Body Shop Eyelash Curler (£5, The Body Shop).
