Men and Make-up, why the stigma?
It is not unheard of these days, that a man wears make-up! Many may not admit to it, but why still the stigma? According to a poll in the USA last year 6 out of 10 men aged 25 plus were indeed wearing some form of make-up. As I investigated further the top 2 cosmetics used were, tinted moisturiser and eye shadows to fill in gaps of a beard. You can now purchase beard filler such as, MMUK MAN, Beard Filler, Luxury Brow and Beard Shadow Corrector-http://www.mensmake-up.co.uk/ All products available here.
Would you be shocked or upset if your man was wearing some form of make-up? Would you kick Russell Brand or Johnny Depp out of bed for eating a biscuit? If man liner is ok for enhancing the eyes and adding a mystical aura to a man, what is wrong with tinted moisturiser and eyebrow enhancer? Men get breakouts, men get dark circles, they also can get bald spots on their manly effort to grow a beard. It’s just not cricket to not have the options available for the man that likes to look after himself.
As far as male grooming goes it does not finish with a haircut and wet shave, men are enjoying facials and regular manicures, subtle fake tanning and my favourite, eyebrow shaping. There is no need for perfectly shaped eyebrows, just a subtle pluck and shape. I personally like my men to be ruggedly sexy not picture perfect and pristine. Gone are the days when all the hype was a back, sack and crack, it’s now chic and stylish to wear subtle coverage a smidgen of guy-liner and a refined set of brows! Go on men, get grooming!
