New Supersonic Boom Plane To Be The Quickest Ever

It’s such a let down when you have to sit for hours on end just to get from London to New York. Well, buckle up babies, because the Supersonic Boom plane is on its way. This aircraft is set to be the quickest ever, shaking up the monotonous journey, and turning it into a 3-hour thrill!

There’s no need to ask who is the brainchild of this amazing new plane. It is of course the same man who has his sights set firmly on the stars, Sir Richard Branson. Mr. Branson has just revealed his plan to provide the World with Boom of which is a brand new supersonic aircraft capable of travelling up to 1,451mph. This new speed will wipe the floor of the current fastest speed of the passenger jet, Concorde, of which could only achieve a measly 1,350mph.

That said, the Boom has not yet been built. In order to build this amazing plane, Mr. Branson will be teaming up with former pilot and Amazon executive, Mr. Blake Scholl. Although we have a feeling mere mortals will never afford the likely cost, in a statement to the Guardian, Mr. Scholl said, “We are talking about the first supersonic jet people can afford to fly.” As yet it is uncertain which ‘people’ Mr. Scholl is referring to – however the term elite springs to mind.

Mr. Scholl went on to add, “This isn’t science fiction, and we are actually doing this. You will be able to fly to New York from London in three-and-a-half hours for $5,000 (£3,466) return, the same cost as business class.”

Mr. Scholl concluded that, “This is supersonic air travel, no bullshit, and it’s actually affordable.” We wait with baited breath for the statement to reach fruition.

The team who will be working on this aircraft will include former Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and NASA engineers. Their intention is to build and test the prototype by late 2017. They hope that if all goes well, commercial flights will be available within a few years.
