OMG! Is Tom Better Than Hugh?

Since mourning the loss of the awesome TV drama, House, in 2008, we have periodically been checking the TV for any sign of a return of the amazingly gorgeous Hugh Laurie to our screens. Thanks to the BBC recently launching a gripping Sunday night drama called The Night Manager, we can breathe a sigh of relief that balance has once more been restored to the universe.

Hugh Laurie is still as sexy as ever, but the fact that he plays a real baddie, AKA Richard Roper, who is as ruthless as it gets, leaves us feeling a tad uncomfortable about lusting over him. During the latest episode,  the sexy Tom Hiddleston (the night manager) actually got his bare bum out during a very raunchy (against the wall) sex scene. No, we couldn’t see it in it’s entirety, but Tom, we saw enough – and we salute you! Since then, our slightly disturbing fascination with Hugh’s fades, as all we can think about is Tom Hiddle-bum, er, Hiddleston. What is more, there is no hope of composure as Twitter has exploded with endless focus on Tom’s extremely pleasant derriere.

For those of you who have foregone seeing this excellent Sunday night drama, in favour of the ironing – it’s time to reorganise your priorities. Tom Hiddleston plays Jonathon Pine, the night manager, who has infiltrated Roper’s world as an undercover spy, in order to bring him to justice for the British police. Following the staged rescue of Roper’s son by the night manager, we have seen Roper give the night manager a new fake business, name (Andrew Birch), passport, as well as millions of pounds to spend on enough weaponry to start a war.

The Night Manager is based on a John Le Carre novel. This show is fantastically acted, and includes the very lucky, and extremely pretty Elizabeth Debicki (GF of Richard Roper, as well as being the night manager’s lover). We can also see Neil Morrisey as Harry Palfrey. Although his acting is remarkable, it remains difficult to shake the idea that the Men Behaving Badly star is in our awesome new psychological drama/thriller.

That said, if the idea of brightening up your Sunday evening by watching scenes in which Mr. Hiddleston gets his kit off, then head to BBC1 on Sunday evening, at 9pm. Loki – he is not!
