Queen’s Showing in London! We’re not talking about our monarch who incidentally is celebrating her 90th rather the fashion house of the late “Lee” McQueen as he was known to his friends. Yes, Alexander McQueen, now in Sarah’s solid hands is bringing the show to London for its Autumn Winter 2016 collection.
The London-Based Brand is usually shown during Paris Fashion Week but for this season, and only this season the collection will be presented in London on Sunday February 21st.
The brand announced the shake-up via Twitter and we’re guessing that the tweeting won’t stop there! We’re anticipating that this will be one of the most tweeted about events during London Fashion Week! The real reason for this relocation is not known yet, though a spokesperson had confirmed that they “wanted to look at doing something different this year”. But whether this change-up is reflected in the collection will all be revealed on the day! For now, let’s enjoy some of the best looks from last year’s Autumn/Winter collection which took place at the Conciergerie, the prison where Marie Antoinette spent her last days. An 18th century delicate and yet dark Victorian inspired collection with a colour palette restricted to pale shades of pink, red, ivory and black; with an array of contrasting fabrics ranging from leather, silk, lace and organza.
