Marking one year as A$AP Rocky steps into his role as Ray-Ban’s first-ever Creative Director, the multi-hyphenate unveils his debut metal collection, introducing his first optical designs for the brand. The release captures a refined balance of heritage and forward-thinking design, reflecting a vision rooted in individuality and culture.
Drawing inspiration from iconic silhouettes across the decades, the collection reimagines classic forms through a contemporary lens. Bold wire frames and rimless sun and optical styles are shaped by soft oval curves and sleek, narrow rectangles, all rendered in timeless metallic tones. Pushing boundaries further, a standout futuristic wraparound design emerges as a rare highlight, available exclusively in select stores.
To launch the collection, Rocky collaborates with legendary rap icon Nas in a striking campaign. Set inside a late-night New York diner, the visual narrative bridges past and present, channeling ‘90s-inspired moments through Rocky’s distinctly modern perspective. The result is a confident statement: respect tradition, challenge convention, and step boldly into what comes next.
The Ray-Ban collection follows A$AP Rocky’s AWGE show at NYFW, which took over a former downtown bank, and the launch of his jewellery line PAVE NITEO, which he wore to the Chanel couture show last month.
