From the team behind the acclaimed Leroy, DUCHY brings a fresh take on Savoy-inspired dining to the heart of Shoreditch, offering a distinctive culinary experience where heritage, hospitality and contemporary London dining come together.
Situated on Phipp Street in Shoreditch, DUCHY is becoming a unique dining spot with a culinary philosophy rooted in fluidity, seasonality and the rich food culture of the historic French-Italian borderlands. Inspired by the historic Duchy of Savoy, a former territory spanning the Alpine foothills and Mediterranean coastline, DUCHY draws on the traditions of a region that connects parts of modern-day France and Italy. From Lyon and Geneva to Milan and Nice, this diverse landscape has long been shaped by a shared appreciation for exceptional produce, wines and cooking.
Duchy’s cooking looks beyond the mountains to the sun-drenched shores of Nice, the French Riviera, Liguria and the Italian Riviera, where seafood, olive oil, citrus, wild herbs and exceptional seasonal produce shape a vibrant coastal cuisine. The result is a menu that celebrates the natural connection between alpine traditions and Mediterranean flavours, capturing the breadth and richness of a region defined by both mountain and sea.
Following the closure of Leroy in 2024, Grant and Shand saw an opportunity to create something new — a restaurant with its own distinct identity and vision; carrying forward the independent spirit and welcoming hospitality that made the site so cherished, while embracing a new culinary direction inspired by the rich traditions of the historic Savoy region.

At the heart of DUCHY’s philosophy is a commitment to letting the ingredients lead. Guided by seasonality, daily market finds and close relationships with farmers and producers, the menu is ever-evolving, reflecting the finest produce available at any given moment. Rather than adhering to a static selection, dishes are refined as ingredients reach their peak, with new dishes introduced each week. It is a thoughtful, produce-led approach that celebrates freshness and spontaneity. DUCHY’s weekly-changing set lunch menu invites guests to return regularly, offering a fresh taste of the kitchen’s latest creations.

This ever-changing approach pays homage to the culinary traditions of the Savoy region, where cooking has long been shaped by the seasons, the surrounding landscape and the finest ingredients available. At DUCHY, the menu celebrates these principles reimagined through a contemporary lens.
Drawing on traditional recipes, ingredients and techniques from both sides of the French-Italian border, Chef Simon Shand creates dishes that remain faithful to their origins, distinctly refined for the modern palate. Heritage varieties, regional specialities and classic flavour combinations are reinterpreted through refined execution and unique presentation, allowing the cuisine to feel relevant without losing its sense of place.

At DUCHY, food and wine are celebrated as complementary expressions of culture, each offering a glimpse into the traditions and heritage of a region. Mirroring the menu’s French-Italian influences, the wine list brings together producers from both countries, with a particular focus on Alpine and lesser-known wine regions connected to Savoy’s shared history. Together, the carefully considered pairing of food and wine tells a story of a region shaped by movement, exchange and a common culinary language that transcends national boundaries.
“Our inspiration comes from a region where food culture has always evolved according to season, landscape and availability, ” says chef Simon Shand. “We want the menu to remain alive. That means responding constantly to what producers are growing, what farmers are rearing and what arrives at its absolute best. The menu is never static, it’s always moving forward. “
