Met Gala 2023 Red Carpet: Best Dressed Celebrities

The 2023 Met Gala red carpet took place last night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year the event celebrated the exhibition Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, honouring his legacy – the late designer who ran fashion houses such as Fendi, Chanel and his own eponymous line. As we know, the Met Gala has created some of the most incredible and memorable red carpet looks of all time, and this year definitely did not disappoint. Stars were asked to dress “in honour of Karl”, and they certainly delivered.

We saw inspiration from his signature white shirt, Chanel’s trademark camellia flower and his beloved cat, Choupette. Doja Cat literally transformed into a cat, while Jared Leto came in a fluffy feline costume. Some of our favourite stars also wore vintage couture, including Gisele (spring/summer 2007), Naomi Campbell (spring/summer 2010) and Nicole Kidman, who re-wore the gown from her iconic Chanel No 5 commercial, directed by Baz Luhrmann in 2004. Co-host Dua Lipa was one of the first to arrive in a bridal look originally worn by Claudia Schiffer on the autumn/winter 1992 Chanel runway.
