Sister, Sister: Tia Mowry Addresses A Negative Comment on Instagram
Few days ago “Sister Sister” Star Tia Mowry posted this beautiful image below which received an abundance of likes and positive uplifting comments. Sadly one Instagram user had something not so nice to say. Amongst the post which currently stands at 664 comments the Actress called out the user who thought her negative comment wouldn’t be noticed. The user wrote “Getting Fat”.
The actress caught this comment and shamed the user addressing her with the following message below in later post with her 2.6 million Instagram followers.
I don’t normally do this, but I wanted to prove a point. I just posted a few days ago about embracing and uplifting others about body image. Here, @miekk_ felt the need to say I was getting fat. I took a look at your profile and I was sad to see that you WORK for YOUNG African American girls aiding in their studies. I hope this isn’t what you would tell your girls? Does your BOSS know that this is how you degrade other WOMAN? @hbcutravelers Internet BULLYING is not cool and it needs to stop. Would you say this to my face? Is this how you speak to yourself when YOU look at yourself in the mirror. Again, I’m shining a light on this issue hoping to see change. Love and uplift! This is not just about me getting called fat. This isn’t just about me. I could care less! Im standing up for the people that like to hide behind computers cyber bulling calling many gay, skinny, slut, ugly, fat, the list goes on and on. Cyber bullying needs to stop!
Her twin sister Tamera Mowry-Housley addressed a similar topic regarding the pressure women have to lose weight after childbirth on her co-hosted talk show “The Real” back in September 2015 centrictv.com reports the following “Many women feel under immense pressure to regain their figure after childbirth, especially if they’re in the public eye,” Mowry-Housley said during a Girl Chat segment. “I’ve got to admit I felt pressure to bounce back to my pre-baby shape.”
It’s nice to see both sisters speaking up on matters regarding boy image. Might I add both sisters are happily married with children and great jobs. They continually spread positively and uplift their fans and followers online. It’s a shame that some people in the world can’t focus on themselves.
