There’s something appealing about an evening that starts with cocktails and ends with a delicious dinner — even better when both experiences are just moments apart. For our latest London dining experience, we headed to Hilton London Metropole to discover Bow Bar’s new East London-inspired cocktail menu before settling in for an incredible dinner at Tyburn Kitchen. From expertly crafted cocktails to delicious, comforting dishes served in a relaxed, family-friendly setting, it was the perfect way to spend an evening in London.
Bow Bar
Our evening began at Bow Bar, the award-winning hotel bar located on the ground floor of Hilton London Metropole. The space immediately sets the tone, Bow Bar centres around a striking bar with warm lighting, copper detailing and commissioned artwork by local resident Olha Pryymak. Inspired by some of East London’s most iconic neighbourhoods, the artwork adds another layer of personality to a space that manages to feel both sophisticated and effortlessly cool. And while the interiors make an impression, the cocktails are very much the reason to stay.

Bow Bar’s new cocktail menu takes inspiration from the cultural mix and creative energy of East London, translating the area’s past and present into a collection of imaginative serves. Rather than simply being just pretty drinks, the menu is designed to take you on a flavour-led journey. We worked our way through the new menu, sampling a selection of cocktails and discovering plenty of personality in the glass. From refreshing and vibrant serves to more complex combinations, there’s truly something for everyone; whether you’re starting the evening with something light or looking for a cocktail with a little more punch.
For us, the real appeal is that Bow Bar makes cocktails feel like an experience with every cocktail telling a story. The bar also offers craft beers, wines and premium spirits, including Bow Bars very own 225 Gin, blended and bottled in the capital.

BERRIES IN BLOOM Cultivates a bright, floral serve inspired by the seasonal colour of Columbia Road Flower Market.
THE COFFEE EXCHANGE Tips its hat to the historic coffee houses that once fuelled East London’s commerce and conversation, reimagining the Negroni through rich coffee notes and bittersweet aperitivo character.
BRICK LANE AFTER DARK Captures the energy of one of London’s most recognisable streets once the market stalls have packed away and the restaurants, bars and fuzzy neon glow take over.
HUGO’S HOUSE SET Draws inspiration from house music culture, transforming the familiar Hugo Spritz into a fresh, vibrant serve designed around atmosphere, rhythm and easy-going vibes.
EAST INDIA CLUB References the tea trade that once flowed through East London, layering Earl Grey flavours into a refined and aromatic cocktail.
ROSEMARY LANE Takes its name from one of the area’s more historically eccentric streets, pairing botanical notes with understated elegance. VAULT, ECV2 Looks to the City’s financial district and the institutions that shaped it.
DALSTON DARLING Celebrates the playful creativity and independent spirit of the Hackney gem.
EAST END EMBER A smoky, warming serve inspired by the area’s industrial heritage, balancing the depth of spiced pineapple with a lingering finish that reflects the grit and energy of modern East london.
The new menu also complements Bow Bar’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. The bar operates using 100% renewable electricity and with zero waste to landfill, while ingredients are given a second life wherever possible. Citrus peels are transformed into infusions, fruit offcuts become creative garnishes and herbs are grown in a hydroponic garden situated on the bar. This brilliant approach has also earned Bow Bar national recognition, including the BMA Environment Award in 2024 and 2025, alongside a Highly Commended Drinks Sustainability Award from Foodservice Footprint in 2024.
Tyburn Kitchen
The transition from drinks to dinner was effortless. There was no need to rush across London or head elsewhere, as everything you need for a relaxed evening is right here. Tyburn Kitchen offers a comfortable, contemporary setting for dinner, with a menu of familiar favourites and crowd-pleasing dishes. And after making our way through Bow Bar’s expertly crafted cocktails, we were more than ready to settle in and eat.

The Tyburn Buddha Bowl was an absolute treat; a vibrant combination of pearl barley, tenderstem broccoli, pickled cucumber, baby spinach and avocado, finished with fresh coriander and coconut dressing. You can also add king prawns for an extra touch of indulgence. For the mains, we went for the Pork Tomahawk and Dry-Aged Lancashire Rib Eye, both cooked over the Josper grill and they were nothing short of divine. The rib eye was cooked to perfection, while the pork was genuinely chef’s kiss; tender, full of flavour and a real standout. The meal was perfectly rounded off with chunky chips and chargrilled tenderstem broccoli, topped with toasted almond crumble. It was the kind of dinner where every dish brought something different to the table, but everything worked beautifully together.
