Bridgerton

Bridgerton Netflix period drama series released at the end of last year, and was one of the most-streamed series of the year. Popular for its raunchy scenes and truly exquisite fashion, this series changed people’s perception of regency drama. One of the first looks viewers clapped their eyes on was Daphne’s debutante look. In addition to this, the dress is a real stunner. The simple, gold detailing along with the puff sleeves are classic of the regency period. Who wouldn’t call her ‘flawless’?

The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby costume design is a dream. Carey Mulligan, who played Daisy, wears some truly amazing outfits. This party dress is a fan favourite. Worn to one of Gatsby’s many parties that took place in the film. This extravagant jewelled dress was styled with a classic flapper headdress – perfect for a period drama piece.

The Crown

Moving forward to the 1980s, the fourth season of The Crown focused on the budding relationship of Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Kudos to the costume department, who clearly studied the many outfits Diana wore before and during her marriage to the Prince as the similarities are almost too much. This period drama highlights the downfall of the relationship through fashion. This particular piece is almost an exact copy of Diana’s real outfit. Similarly, both Emma Corrin and Diana looked absolutely gorgeous.
