Cara Delevingne takes to Twitter to silence the rumours that speculated whether she had left the modelling world for good, but after a strong return to the fashion scene as the new face of the new Saint Laurent “La Collection de Paris” couture campaign, Delevingne also takes the opportunity to explain why she took a break from modelling.
After taking a break from modelling for a few months this year, many wondered whether Cara had left the modelling world once and for all, in order to begin shifting her career more towards acting. The stunning model has never shied away from the idea that she would like to pursue a full-time acting career, however Cara excited many fans as she recently tweeted, “I never quit.”
Clarifying recent rumours, Cara publicly stated that she merely paused her career to allow her to deal with and heal from her ongoing battle with depression as she took to Twitter to begin her discussion saying, “Can we just set the record straight..” going onto to say in a series of tweets, “I suffer from depression and was a model during a particularly rough patch of self hatred” and assured her fans that she does not blame the fashion industry, subject to prior speculation.
Diagnosed with depression at the age of 15, Cara has previously opened up about her battle with depression in an interview with British actor Rupert Everett at the Women in the World Summit, in hope to raise awareness of mental health issues. Never hiding her fight, Cara has always shown great bravery in talking publicly about her mental health and the severity of her struggle, but she’s back on the scene in this stunning new campaign.
